Cruxis Crystal
From Aselia, the Tales wiki
Cruxis Crystal is an evolved form of Exsphere which promotes the dormant powers of the body even further than of the latter mentioned gem. Most of the users of Cruxis Crystals have been described as angels because of the wings they get by having the crystal.
However, this also means the loss of all human requirements such as sleep, hunger and thirst, and of all emotion, unless the wearer is equipped with a Key Crest or Rune Crest. At one point in the game, Colette Brunel becomes a subject to the effects of the Cruxis Crystal, resulting in an increase in her body strength as well as improved sight and vision, but also resulting in her ignorance of everything else.

[edit] Chronic Angelus Crystallus Inofficium
A very rare disease caused by a Cruxis Crystal is the Chronic Angelus Crystallus Inofficium. It is caused when the body of a Cruxis Crystal bearer rejects the crystal, but this happens only for one in a million Cruxis Crystal users.

[edit] Trivia
- When Lloyd and company discover the truth behind the creation of Exspheres, Lloyd nearly throws his away, only to stop after Colette and Kratos convince him otherwise; in this, she mentions that, "My opinion may not matter because I don't use an Exsphere". Technically she is using one, as Cruxis Crystals are an evolved form of Exsphere, but the party does not know this at the time.
- At the end of Tales of Symphonia, Lloyd briefly manifests angelic wings in order to fly up to the Great Seed and revive it, but this is the only time it ever happens; whether or not Lloyd even can do it again is unknown.
