Dark Radiance (魔神閃光断 Majin Senkoudan?, "Demon God Flash Light Failure") is a strike arte in the Tales series.
Arte Description and History
When Emil Castagnier uses it in Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World, he jumps in the air with an upward crescent attack, followed by another. He then slams downward with a third crescent attack before sending a wave of energy at the enemy. After Emil seals away his Ratatosk mode, he says "Divine Radiance" while activating the attack, instead of "Dark Radiance", even though the arte label itself does not change. When Alvin uses it in Tales of Xillia and Tales of Xillia 2, he leaps into the air and then calls a ball of flame to his sword. He then descends while spinning his blade, dropping both it and the fireball onto his target. He can alter it into Devil Flare with his "Charge" special ability. In Tales of the Rays, Emil's variant is a regular arte, while Alvin's attains mirrage arte status and is Dark-elemental.
