Sonic Chaos (ToE)

Sonic Chaos as it appears in Tales of Eternia.

Demonic Chaos (魔神連牙斬 Majin Rengazan?, "Demon God Chaining Fang Slash"), also localized as Sonic Chaos, is an upgraded version of the Double Demon Fang arte.

Arte Description and History[]

This arte first appeared in Tales of Eternia as a Sacred Skill that combined Sonic Blade and Twin Sonic Blade. When the arte is executed, Reid Hershel releases an initial projectile, then follows with a second, much larger and more powerful projectile blast that deals multiple hits. However, the projectile will not cause damage for enemies in front, but rather from a little distance, making it difficult to use all the arte's hits.

From Tales of Symphonia onward, this arte allows users to release three projectile waves at the enemy, with the third projectile dealing more damage and hits while passing through the target to hit any other enemies behind it. In Tales of Vesperia, Flynn Scifo initially releases three regular-sized projectiles and after 200 uses, he can add two extra projectiles, increasing the total count to five.

In Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology 3, Reid's version of Majin Rengazan differs from the other users that follows the attack pattern seen in Tales of Symphonia, with him releasing one projectile followed by four others rapidly in a single slash. This unique attack pattern is not seen in the previous Radiant Mythology games.

In Tales of Xillia and its sequel, it is a linked arte that is activated with either Demon Fang or Demon Fist. The user releases the first projectile, followed by the partner who releases the second before both of them releases the last projectile at the same time, creating a bigger projectile.

In Tales of the Rays, this is Lloyd Irving's Dark-elemental reward mirrage arte, and patterned off Flynn's version. It is also recolored to purple to match the attribute.

In Tales of Crestoria, Reid's Sonic Chaos uses the attack pattern seen in Tales of Symphonia at close quarters.
