Eternal Recurrence (エターナル・リカーランス Etaanaru Rikaaransu?) is a mystic arte that is used by Richter Abend from Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World.
Arte Description and History
In Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World, Eternal Recurrence is used exclusively as a counter to Ain Soph Aur, a mystic arte that Emil Castagnier can extend from Devil's Hellfire. When Eternal Recurrence is activated, Richter blocks and catches the blast from Ain Soph Aur, then slices a cross through it to redirect the blast, hitting the entire party. This attack allows Richter to avoid damage completely, while returning and magnifying the potential injury to its source.
This later becomes Richter's only mystic arte in Tales of VS., where it acts like a typical mystic arte within that game, in which it can be activated after using any arcane arte during Over Limit mode.
