Explode (エクスプロード Ekusupuroodo?), previously localized as Explosion, is a High-Level Fire Spell in the Tales series involving a fire ball dropped from the sky that creates a massive explosion.

[edit] Arte Description and History

The spell's explosion has a massive effect radius and deals the second greatest amount of damage in one hit of all spells, second only to Indignation. This is one of the most common third-tier spells in the game, available to many A.I. enemy and boss characters.

In Tales of Symphonia, Genis Sage learns this spell at Level 56 after having used Eruption at least 50 times and is headed toward the Technical artes. If used together with either Hunting Beast or Raging Beast in an Unison Attack, it becomes Fiery Beast, and if used with Ray, it will become Prism Stars. It does not have any sister arte of the Strike side.

In Tales of the Abyss, this spell is an FOF arte, and can thus only be used if Jade is casting Flame Burst within a fully charged Wind or Light FOF circle. Asch, on the other hand, some other characters like Philia Philis can use it by itself.

In Tales of Hearts, if the spell is used with Beryl Benito's Stone Wall, it will become Ignite Prison. If used with Beryl Benito's Ray Needle, it will become Raging Mist, and if used with Kunzite's Dead Soul, it becomes Bloody Howling.
