Pierre de Chaltier (ピエール・ド・シャルティエ Pieeru Do Sharutie?) is the Swordian of Earth, containing a copy of the personality of the 2nd Er'ther Army Squadron Leader, Major Pierre de Chaltier. During the events of Tales of Destiny, he is wielded by Leon Magnus.
History[]
Chaltier has been with Leon's side since he was a child and enduring his hardships under Hugo Gilchrist's insanity, possibly as the only figure Leon could call "best friend". He specializes in short-ranged combat, but also possesses several Earth-based magic and some Dark magic as well. Chaltier is a very restrained individual, but very loyal even if he did not like the order, that he would follow his master, referred to as "Young Master" in the English version or "Bocchan" in the Japanese script, to death, even if it means betraying his fellow Swordians. According to his diary, found in the past time line of Tales of Destiny 2, he has been ostracized by his peers, and wants to become stronger to show that he is not stupid. He is mostly referred as "Chal" (シャル Sharu?) by Leon.
Appearance and Personality[]

In Tales of Destiny 2, Chaltier has short blonde hair, and teal eyes. He wears a white shirt with teal on the top and sleeves, white pants, and teal boots.
By the PS2 remake of Tales of Destiny, Chaltier's appearance is altered. He now has short grey hair and light blue eyes. He wears a light grey shirt and boots, white pants, and blue gloves. His Swordian takes the shape on an English cutlass with the guard on the back side.
Chaltier has a generally timid temperament and tends towards servility. Leon has had a strong influence upon him during their time together, and he is intensely loyal to his wielder.
Fighting Style[]

In Tales of the Rays, Chaltier is given his own artset to differentiate himself from Leon and Judas. His stance has him wield his sword in his right hand, in front of him, with the blade tilted leftward. His is more of a defensive style, as each of his physical artes has him enter a stance where, if struck, he will immediately step out of the way.
