Cure

Cure (キュア, Kyua^?) is a healing spell used typically by Priests, Bishops, or other dedicated healers in nearly every game in the Tales series.

Arte Description and History[]

Cure (TotA) — Cure as it appears in *Tales of the Abyss*.

This spell restores a large amount of HP to one ally, often healing any critically injured ally back to full health. This spell always appears as the most powerful single target healing spell, but its effectiveness is countered often with a large casting time and high TP cost.

In Tales of Symphonia, Cure is the most powerful healing spell on the Strike branch of artes. Its Technical counterpart is Healing Circle, but the Technical branch enables Raine Sage to obtain Revitalize, the most potent area-based healing spell.

In Tales of the Abyss, if Natalia Luzu Kimlasca-Lanvaldear casts this spell within a fully charged Earth or Dark FOF Circle, it will change into Restore. In the PlayStation 3 and Definitive Edition ports of Tales of Vesperia, Flynn Scifo can learn Cure as an altered arte. He can activate this arte if the Great Deluge skill is equipped while using First Aid until the arte is mastered. After this, Cure is available as a separate arte that does not require the skill to be equipped. He can also use it in the crossover RPG Project X Zone and Project X Zone 2, though it becomes a typical healing spell there, restoring 30% in the former and 60% in the latter.

In Tales of Crestoria, Leia Rolando's Devoted Staff Striker unit restores 50% of an ally's max HP while Mint Adenade's White Glove of Purity unit restores 65% of an ally's max HP. The latter has an additional effect of increasing the target party member's DEF by 10% for two turns.

In the PlayStation 2 version of Tales of Destiny, it is one of type jewel types that adds healing to the Charge action.
