Falling Leaf (ToV)

Falling Leaf used by Zagi in Tales of Vesperia.

Falling Leaf (飛葉翻歩 Hiyouhonpo?, "Flying Leaf Fluttering Step") is a hand-to-hand strike arte commonly used by fighters in the Tales series.

Arte Description and History[]

Falling Leaf (ToV) Repede

Falling Leaf used by Repede in Tales of Vesperia.

When used, the user sneaks behind the enemy almost at once. It is possible to avoid attacks from the enemy with this arte, but it does not provide any damage. However, as it usually is a base arte, one can combine it together with master and arcane artes after using it.

In Tales of Eternia, Celsius tends to follow up her Mirage with a Chi, allowing her to float behind the party's defenses and strike their back.

In Tales of Vesperia, Zagi's version has him slash through the enemy as he passes through them. Furthermore, in the PlayStation 3 and Definitive Edition versions of the same game, Repede can change this arte into the altered arte Swirling Nature, while the Great Deluge skill is equipped.

In Tales of Xillia, this arte is one of the few used by the Golden Mage Knight - Scholar that he does not share with Jude Mathis. However, this is visually similar to Jude's Snap Pivot. In Tales of the Rays, this arte is Earth-elemental and it alters into Hachiyourenga when used as the sixth or later action in a chain or during Burst Limits.
