Fang Strike

Fang Strike as it appears in Tales of Vesperia.

Fang Strike (双牙掌, Sougashou^?, "Twin Fang Palm"), Sougashou (双牙翔^?, "Twin Fang Flight"), and Sougashou (爪牙衝^?, "Clasping Fang Strike") are recurring strike artes in the Tales series.

Arte Description and History

The user strikes down the enemy with their weapon and then uppercuts them. Based on its appearance and names, it appears to be an unarmed variant of Fang Blade. In Tales of Innocence R, Hermana performs an unarmed version, and her version uses the kanji for "soar" (翔, shou^?) instead of "palm" (掌, shou^?). Animation-wise, Hermana strikes the enemy with a downward left punch before performing a right uppercut combined with a clockwise spinning leap. In Tales of the Rays, Yuri's Form Change "Claw" has a variant called Sougashou (爪牙衝^?), who performs a sword version that is fairly similar to his original self's version.
