Indignant Judgment

Indignation Judgment as it appears in Tales of Symphonia.

Indignant Judgment (インディグネイト・ジャッジメント / インデグネイト・ジャッジメント, Indiguneito Jadjimento^?, "Indignate Judgment"), originally localized as Indignation Judgment, is a mystic arte first introduced in Tales of Destiny 2 and later associated with Genis Sage in Tales of Symphonia.

Arte Description and History

Indignate Judgment as it appears in Tales of the Rays.

When the arte is used, multiple lightning strikes rain down and strike all in their path before a sword imbued with holy power comes crashing down, exploding in a burst of lightning. Indignant Judgment began as an enemy-exclusive spell in Tales of Destiny 2, available to significantly powerful enemies who will use it against the party if the game is set to the Hard difficulty or higher. In the PlayStation Portable port of Tales of Destiny 2, Philia Felice gains this spell in her coliseum battle, where, again, it is only used against the player on the Hard difficulty or higher. Elrane, Fortuna, Magnadeus also gain cut-ins for this arte.

The arte becomes usable by the player in Tales of Symphonia, where Genis Sage can perform it by using Indignation during Over Limit mode. Like in the preceding game, this attack can be performed by other enemy bosses when the game is set to the Hard difficulty or higher. Although the localized name was changed to "Indignant Judgment" in Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology, Genis still shouts "Indignation Judgment" when using the attack.

In Tales of Symphonia: The Animation, Mithos uses what appears to be Indignation Judgment, albeit not naming it, against the party during the final battle.

In Tales of Crestoria, despite sharing the same mystic arte, Genis and Mithos's executions differ from each other through both the animation and the color of the sword. Mithos also uses the "Indignant Judgement" spelling for the arte in banner and menus but is subtitled as "Indignant Judgment" when the arte is used. Mithos's Where His Path Ends unit is 205% weaker than Genis's Wise Beyond His Years unit but deals nineteen more hits and has a shorter Over Limit gauge by 30 OL.
