Kaitzur, the Border Fortress (国境の砦カイツール?) is checkpoint station located on the Rugnican continent in Tales of the Abyss.
Geography[]
Kaitzur is located in southern Rugnica and effectively separates the continent's territory between the countries of Kimlasca and Malkuth. Everything north of the border is considered to be Malkuth's territory, while everything south of the border is considered to be Kimlasca's territory. The station sits just south of the Fubras River and north of the Kaitzur Naval Port. Headquartering stations exist for both Kimlasca and Malkuth inside. The total population is 60,000.
History[]
Luke fon Fabre, along with Tear Grants, Jade Curtiss, Guy Cecil, and Fon Master Ion, meet with Anise Tatlin at the northern Malkuth side of the station. There, Anise is attempting to cross the border but lacks a passport. After the group reunites, Luke is attacked by Asch but saved by Van Grants, who commands Asch to retreat. Luke is overjoyed to see his master again and proceeds to explain everything that has happened since the accident at Baticul.
an invites the group to the inn, where he disputes Tear's accusations against him and informs them that the God-Generals are acting on their own volition. Satisfied with his explanation, Tear agrees to withhold her hostilities. Van then provides the group enough passports for them all to cross the border and make their way to the Kaitzur Naval Port. Later in the story, part of the group returns to Kaitzur in order to stop the war between Kimlasca and Malkuth. Natalia Luzu Kimlasca-Lanvaldear commands Jozette Cecille to cease hostilities, but she claims that she is not at liberty to do so. After hearing Jozette's reasoning that Count Almandine is officially in charge of the operation but away at Chesedonia, the group heads there.
