Omega Tempest

Omega Tempest (真空裂斬, Shinkuuretsuzan^?, "Vacuum Splitting Slash"), also localized as Omega Tempest Strike, is an upgraded version of the Tempest Strike arte.

Arte Description and History

This arte was conceived in Tales of Eternia as a more powerful Wind-elemental version of Tempest Strike, with the potential to travel across the full length of a screen during battle. The arte was modified in Tales of Symphonia, which the user spins forward as if initiating a Tempest, then spins directly upward to continue the attack. The user then jumps backward to land close to the same position where this arte was executed. Later games included only the rising part as the arte's staple animation.

This arte's current implementation is exceptionally useful for juggling enemies in the air for impressive combos. However, it is harder to use this arte by itself to evade enemy attacks and spells compared to Tempest Strike or its upgrades or variants since the user lands near the starting position rather than moving forward.

In Tales of the Rays, this arte alters into Shinkuu Zanretsusen when used as the sixth or later action in a chain or during Burst Limits.

In the Japanese language files of Tales of Legendia, there is a voice clip of this arte used by Chloe Valens. However, she doesn't have access to this arte in any final version of the game.
