Savage Wolf Fury

Savage Wolf Fury as it appears in Tales of Vesperia.

Savage Wolf Fury (漸毅狼影陣, Zankou Roueijin^?, "Final Resolution Wolf Shadow Field") is a mystic arte used by Yuri Lowell from Tales of Vesperia and Artorius Collbrande from Tales of Berseria.

Arte Description and History

In Tales of Vesperia, this attack is executed by holding the Attack button during any arcane, altered, or burst arte while Over Limit mode is active at level 3 or 4. Yuri must also have the Special skill equipped to use it. Once executed, Yuri begins slashing the enemy from all directions as the speed of his slashes gradually increases, becoming quicker and more furious with each strike. After several slashes, he dashes through the enemy with a single, powerful strike, landing an additional four hits on the enemy. With the Hit Plus skill equipped, Yuri is capable of adding more weak slashes to the attack, achieved by pressing the Attack button at set intervals. Each additional hit is accompanied by a red flash, increasing the overall damage and hit count of the attack itself.

Exclusively during the battle with the second form of the final boss, a Secret Mission is available when the boss is at low health. If Yuri uses Savage Wolf Fury, an extension appears automatically after the final hit, in which Yuri jumps into the air and hurls a projectile that instantly kills the boss. After completing this extension, the required Secret Mission objective is met, rewarding Yuri with the Last Fencer weapon. This extension is not available while fighting the third form of the final boss. In the PlayStation 3 and Definitive Edition versions of the game, the cut-in image that appears before this extension is fully animated, featuring Yuri with his eyes closed, opening them as his face streams across the screen.

As with most of the rest of the game's player characters' mystic artes, Savage Wolf Fury factors into the Brave Vesperia mystic arte. After returning to the floor from throwing his weapon similarly to Overlord Reign Impact, the user will dash through foes like Yuri does at the end of Savage Wolf Fury.

In Tales of Berseria, Artorius summons several swords from the sky to rain down upon the target. He grabs one of the swords and makes a slash at his target, and then he attacks again from all directions. After making the final slash, the target is snared in a ball of light, and Artorius stabs his sword into the ground, causing the ball to explode, damaging the target and sending all of the swords on the field away. In Tales of Crestoria, the background in Artorius's version is given a more lightish-golden sky.

In Project X Zone 2, Flynn mimics Yuri's attack motions and quote before using Radiant Dragon Fang when attacking two or more enemies on the map.
