Origin (オリジン, Orijin^?) and Summon: Origin (降霊召符・源, Koureishoufu: Minamoto^?, "Spirit Summoning Seal: Origin") are artes in the Tales series that summon Origin, the King of Spirits.

Arte Description and History

Origin first appears in Tales of Phantasia, under the command of Claus F. Lester. When summoned, Origin splits himself into two separate forms before firing lightning between them. It is essentially a two-person version of his Collapse arte. This animation would be used in Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon X.

In Tales of Symphonia, Origin performs his Rameesh arte, where he creates a large triangle made of lightning that ruptures the earth and damages enemies trapped inside. The only difference concerning this version of the summon is its boosting of the party's Attack and Defense. Sheena Fujibayashi is the only character in the game who can use this summon.

In Tales of the Rays, Origin will instead cast the arte Collapse from directly above the target.
