Flare Tornado

Flare Tornado (フレアトーネード / フレアトルネード, Fureatooneedo / Fureatoruneedo^?) is a classic Fire-elemental spell in the Tales series, commonly appearing in the intermediate or advanced ranks of damage output.

Arte Description and History

This spell creates a rapidly spinning vortex of fire that affects a moderate range of the battlefield, capable of lifting multiple enemies into the air while they are damaged by the spiraling flames, before the vortex dissipates and drops the enemies to the ground.

In Tales of the Abyss, Flare Tornado is an FOF Change that requires Turbulence to be cast within a fully-charged Fire or Light FOF Circle. Similarly, in the PlayStation 2 remake of Tales of Destiny, Stahn Aileron has the unique option of using the spell while airborne, converting it into the aerial altered arte, Raging Flare. Philia Felice cannot perform the same effect with her own Flare Tornado. In Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World, Genis Sage is capable of learning this spell, although he never gains the ability to use this spell in the prequel, Tales of Symphonia, regardless of his arte progression.
