Geyorkias (ゲオルギアス Georugiasu?) is the King of the Sacred Beasts in Tales of Rebirth. Sometimes referred to as the Divine King or Sacred Beast King, Geyorkias is a large, phoenix-like beast with an intimidating demeanor. His gray and gold color scheme is complimented by the ruby jewel that protrudes from his chest.

History[]

Past[]

Geyorkias is the Sacred Beast King who ruled the six Sacred Beasts, known as the "Six Saints", long before the events of the story. At some point in the past, Geyorkias and his Six Saints came into conflict over opposing ideals: Geyorkias believed they should eradicate all Huma from the world so that the racism and hatred between them and their fellow race, the Gajuma, would cease, as Huma had undergone a marked cultural development and waged war against the Gajuma in an attempt to subject them to the Huma's rule.

The Six Saints disagreed with this, believing the relationship between Huma and Gajuma to merely be the "workings of nature", and a battle between the two great forces ensued, the battle's outcome having the potential to affect the entire world. The people feared this outcome and struggled to fashion a model society at a time when vice and virtue were virtually nonexistent. After a battle that raged seemingly with no end, the Six Saints overcame Geyorkias and sealed him away, allowing Huma to continue existing in the world with the Gajuma. However, this battle also left the earth impoverished, and the Six Saints weakened as a result, leaving no one to guide the Huma and Gajuma, so the hatred between them, known as the "impression", incessantly built.

Geyorkias first appears in the story when Agarte Lindblum uses her Force of Moon to summon him during her crowning ceremony at the ritual dais atop Calegia Castle. After being summoned, Geyorkias introduces himself and reveals his dark intent: to exterminate all Huma from the world. The protagonists manage to defeat Geyorkias in battle, however, causing him to seemingly disappear. After these events, the group embarks on a journey to purify what they believe to be Geyorkias's impression, which is causing racial strife across the map. Their travels lead them to each of the six Sacred Beasts, gaining their power and learning more of Calegia's history as they progress.

The group eventually makes their way to Mount Sovereign, where Geyorkias's body sleeps. Deep within Mount Sovereign, the group encounters Zilva Madigan, who reveals her role in the recent and past events that have plagued Calegia. After her defeat and subsequent death, the group manages to call upon Geyorkias. Geyorkias informs the group that it is too late to save the world from doom. He cites the sinister nature of human hearts as giving way to the "Beast of Calamity", Yuris, who shall "descend and deliver ruination" to the world. He also explains that the impression that ravaged the world earlier in the story was not his, but Yuris's.

Since the beginning of time, Geyorkias has suppressed Yuris, but when Agarte used her Force to summon Geyorkias, Yuris's impression "eluded" him and "dispersed throughout the world". Although the impression was purified, the hatred that brims within the human heart endured, leading to cataclysmic events, such as the destruction of Razilda. These negative emotions spurred Yuris, leading him to hide behind Geyorkias's name, ensnare Zilva, and usher the world into chaos. When the group defeats Yuris in its realm, Agarte uses her Force to summon Geyorkias once more, and Geyorkias purges Yuris's "evil consciousness" from the world. Before leaving, Geyorkias warns the group that, should humanity take the wrong course again, Yuris shall return.
