History
Tales of Symphonia
Before being able to enter the Asgard Human Ranch, the party must go to Hima to find a man named Pietro, who escaped from the Ranch to tell the Chosen about something he had heard there. However, Pietro is not in mentally good state, and thus they must help him first. Before going to the Tower of Mana, as well, they will meet Clara. Colette Brunel tries to calm her down from attacking some knights, but she is pushed away along with Raine Sage. However, they find the key to the Tower of Mana, realizing that Clara had it all along while everybody else thought it was long lost. When they have finally arrived to Hima for the final time, the group goes to the top of the mountain to see the Tower of Salvation. There, they meet a dragon tamer that say that he lends dragons to people so that they can get closer to the holy tower, for 100,000 Gald each person. Although the group means that it is way too expensive, Genis Sage says that that they have to, as it is their duty in order to regenerate the world. Then the dragon man realizes that they are the Chosen's group, he says that they do not need to pay anything for the dragons, as it is an honor for him to lend his dragons to the Chosen, and adds that he will have them prepared the day afterward. However, he kindly asks them not to hurt the dragons on their way.
When the group gets down again, Raine suggests that they split up for the time. Lloyd Irving can go and talk to everyone, and will maybe be able to have a sword lesson with Kratos if they have done it so far in Palmacosta and Asgard. He will also ask Colette if she really wants to fulfill her duty as the Chosen, and she answers positively, although she honestly says that she is a little bit scared. The next day, Lloyd finds Kratos Aurion talking to Noishe, then suddenly a man appears behind the mercenary and is about to use magic on him. Lloyd shouts at Kratos, and Kratos then attacks the stranger, causing the man to disappear. Kratos thanks Lloyd for the warning, and Lloyd mentions that he thinks he has seen that assassin before. Kratos changes the subject by saying that the others are probably waiting for them.
When they get to the dragons, Kratos says that he will ride with Colette, as protecting her is his job. Lloyd chooses who he will ride with, and they then set off. After Botta dies in Remote Island Human Ranch, it is possible to trigger a new sidequest in Hima. There they will meet Yuan, who seems like he is looking for something. Zelos Wilder comments that it must be very important to him, but Yuan just tells him that his loudmouth soon will get him in trouble before he leaves. Hima is also where the group ends the sidequest about Aifread. Aifread will tell how he lost his men when the Giant Kharlan Tree attacked the world, and that he only wanted the Chosen to pray so that he could forgive her. Lloyd then gives Aifread the letter from Lyla, which makes Aifread shocked and scared. He then writes another letter and asks the group to give it to Lyla.
Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World
In the sequel, Emil Castagnier, Marta Lualdi, Tenebrae, and Colette go to Hima in the search of a winged dragon, and are met by monsters invading the place. They eventually meets the leader of the monsters, and defeat it. A baby dragon then appears and thanks the group for defeating it, as it had killed the father. Colette wonders if the dragon owner she met two years ago also got killed, but the baby dragons says that he managed to get away. As a thank for killing the monster, the baby dragon agrees to form a pact with Emil. Later, in Iselia, it is revealed that Alice and Decus are from Hima. In the last chapter, it is possible to meet Decus here to listen to his and Alice's story, and why he is so devoted in serving Alice. He also reveals the reason why there are monsters in Hima: a shard from a demon's bone. When Decus crushed it and threw the shattered pieces into a ravine, the monsters go away, and Decus says he will be waiting at the Ginnungagap.

Tales of Symphonia: The Animation
In the anime of the game, Hima seems like a normal village with more houses. Lloyd, Colette and Genis are eating in one of the bars while Raine and Kratos are speaking to the priest there in order to get the money for the expensive dragons. Later, the three youngest are looking at the Tower of Salvation from the inn's roof, and they talk about how Colette is going to regenerate the world. Lloyd then raises and asks Colette if she really wants to do it, if she really wants to become an angel. When she just looks down, Genis leaves in sadness, but Lloyd stays and asks if he can get the pendant he gave her in the first episode back. Colette gives it to him, and Lloyd quotes how his father had said that it was only a quarter done. However, Lloyd says that he will fix the pendant and make it perfect, and then give it back to Colette. As he looks down, he says that they then will go back to Iselia, together. The day after, when the sun rises, Colette leaves the inn and is about to get to the dragon owner. She meets Kratos outside, who says that it is dangerous for her to go alone. While he pays the dragon owner, Colette thinks that it is better like this.
