Kanonno is the main female character of Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology, and returns as the main female character in Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology 2. She is a girl that suffers from amnesia and is a member of a guild named Ad Libitum. She is sometimes worried about her femininity, but has really never thought about boys. Chester Burklight sees his late sister in her, and tries desperately to act so much of a brother as possible, something that may make Kanonno nervous. Other than that, she seems like she likes everybody, and has grand connections with the player and Mormo.

[edit] First meeting
She is first met when the player and Mormo hear a scream and save her from a soldier of Ganser in the Foot of the World Tree. After saving her, Chester comes and reveals her name; Kanonno. From there on, after moving to Ailily, it is told that she is a gentle girl who is admired by all for her gentleness and optimism, and that she is trusted by many in Ad Libitum. When the player and Mormo become apprentices for joining the guild, Kanonno is there to teach them everything about the guild, and explains how it works.
As time goes in Ailily, Kanonno develops a strong friendship with the player and Mormo, telling them about her past as an amnesiac, and her dream about finding her home and protect it from the Devourer.
When the player and Mormo found out that Kanonno was gone, they were shocked. They knew she was caught by Ganser.
[edit] Hostage
Soon enough, however, when Doplund is about to help Ailily against Ganser, Kanonno is taken hostage to the Orphic Maze, accused for being a spy. When there is time to bring the sacrifices for the Devourer, Kanonno protects the little girl and her father from being taken. As she is about to be sized to be sacrificed first the player and Mormo come and save her. She takes the other prisoners out to safety, but not before telling them that she will see them afterward. Player and Mormo found Kanonno and began to fight Ganser. After defeating Ganser, it was over. they returned to the town safely, and the villagers were all safe.
[edit] Freeing Ailily
After the player and Mormo have freed Ailily from Ganser, they meet up with Kanonno, and she is happy to see them all right. They get to know that the path to Doplund has opened, and Kanonno says that she will go there in search for her memories. They agree to travel together after bidding goodbye to everyone. When they finally made it to Doplund, they met Garr and Philipe. Their last job was to defeat the monsters that are blocking the path to Gavada. They did it, but Kanonno wasn't quite happy.
[edit] Enter Gavada
After realizing that Doplund is not her home after all, Kanonno follows the heroes to Gavada. Upon entering the area, they get to hear from Eugene Gallardo and Annie Barrs from Tales of Rebirth that the citizens of Gavada live in false peace after a woman named Aurora took control of the place. After hearing the name, Kanonno begins acting weird, seeing weird visions and hearing voices in her head, as if something is trying to stop her from remembering her past.

After Kanonno gets help to get her memories back by Harold Berselius from Tales of Destiny 2, Kanonno becomes so terrified that she runs away. The player and Mormo look for her in Gavada, but in vain. Then, while they are in Weald in Doblund, they encounter Kanonno, who then tells them that she told herself to never see them again. The then explains that she used to be a Descender of a world called Pasca. However, the people of Pasca were constantly at war, and the mana began to fade. In desperation, Kanonno destroyed the whole humanity in Pasca. Regretting the action later on, she was found by Widdershin. Widdershin promised her that the humanity of Pasca would be reborn if she joined helped him, and so she did by letting Gilgulim devour her world. She continued to help Widdershin and Aurora to weaken other worlds' World Trees and let Widdershin's world consume them, until they came to the World Tree of Terresia. The latter was too strong, though, and sent Kanonno off, giving her amnesia. Then she was found and taken care of by Chester.
The player and Mormo are shocked about this, but insist that Kanonno has not changed even though she got her memories back. However, Kanonno's wish for getting Pasca back makes a new node of Gilgulim sprout out, and Kanonno challenges the player for a fight in order to protect it. After the battle, Kanonno gets a break down, but seeing the player and Mormo forgiving her, she returns, realizing that it is with the player and Ad Libitum’s side she wants to be on.
[edit] Farewell
When the player, Mormo and Kanonno go to the Foot of the World Tree to stop the mana consuming, they meet up with Aurora, who tells them about her own past as a Descender. She tells Kanonno that Widdershin might forgive her betrayal if she returns now, but she passes. Aurora will then challenge the party into a fight.
After defeating Aurora, Kanonno says that she will try to stop the mana in Terresia from flowing over to Gilgulim while the player and Mormo go to stop Widdershin. They promise that they will meet again, and that Kanonno is sure they will make it. After Widdershin is defeated, she meets up with them again, and they then witness all the mana from the worlds Gilgulim consumed is being freed. They now are making World Tree seeds in order to restore their worlds. Kanonno finds the seed of her world Pasca, and likewise Mormo finds the seed for Yaoon. After saying goodbye to the player, who is going back to the Terresian World Tree to sleep, Kanonno and Mormo leave Terresia.
[edit] Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology 2
Kanonno returns in the second Radiant Mythology game as a playable character with the surname of Earhart. This is because Kannono is no longer a Descender in this game, and is actually an inhabitant from the world she resides in. She is in the guild Chat from Tales of Eternia runs along with Paneer. Her reason for joining the Guild is because she can hear a voice calling out to her, and Paneer insists that it is the voice of her parents, urging her to find the source of this voice. It is later revealed that the Kanonno from this world is a reincarnation of the Kanonno from Pasca, due to her wish of wanting to be a normal girl. A hobby she had when she was younger was writing short stories. Even now she strongly believes in the legend of the Descender. She is also given her own Mystic Arte, Unchained Note.
[edit] Fighting Style
Kanonno uses a broadsword in battle, and is capable of using magic. In the first game, she has her own set of spells unnamed artes, but these are later named in the second installation. In battle, her theme color is pink.
[edit] Trivia
- It is hinted that the Niata the player, Mormo and Raine encounter in the Orphic Maze through a side-quest, were people of Pasca who prayed for Kanonno's birth while the war in their world was going on. However, the Niata is never able to tell that properly. Kanonno, however, later tells how the people who prayed for her died and became the Orphic Maze, possibly explaining the reason Mormo can not smell Terresia’s mana in said area.
