The Swordsmen (けんし Kenshi?) are a series of costumes for both Julio Sven and Caro Orange. Garr Kelvin, Mary Argent, and Ras have their costumes based on the Swordsman costume. Cress Albane's and the Valkyrie's costumes are based off the Holy Swordsman, with Stahn Aileron's being based off the Flame Swordsman, Leon Magnus, the Demonic Swordsman, and Reid Hershel the Berserker. To obtain a swordsman requires giving a costume the Steel Sword (スティールソード Sutiirusoodo?) root item to get the Swordsman of the same element.
The variations are:
Physical: Kenshi (けんし 「剣士」?, "Swordsman") Fire: Honoo Kenshi (ほのおけんし 「炎剣士」?, "Flame Swordsman") Wind: Shippuu Kenshi (しっぷうけんし 「疾風剣士」?, "Gale Swordsman") Water: Hisame Kenshi (ひさめけんし 「氷雨剣士」?, "Hail Swordsman") Earth: Berserker (ベルセルガ Beruseruka?)
Amazoness (アマゾネス Amazonesu?)
Lightning: Kaminari Kenshi (かみなりけんし 「雷剣士」?, "Thunder Swordsman") Light: Seikenshi (せいけんし 「聖剣士」?, "Holy Swordsman") Dark: Makenshi (まけんし 「魔剣士」?, "Demonic Swordsman") Elemental: Kengou (けんごう 「剣豪」?, "Skilled Swordsman")
Tales of the World: Narikiri Dungeon 3
The process of costume synthesis is greatly streamlined in Tales of the World: Narikiri Dungeon 3, merging all iterations of the Swordsman costume into a single unit consisting of only two gender variants. Julio begins with his Swordsman costume, but Caro must combine her Costume Artist (なりきりし Narikirishi?) with the root Fencing Manual (けんじゅつしょ Kenjatsusho?) to obtain hers.
