A machine with a heart, he is a mechnical guardian knight that was operating more than 2000 years ago. Created to protect Richea Spodune, he has a heartless-looking face and does not choose any means to reach that goal. At the beggining of the game, he is found abandoned and not functioning in an enemy base. After fighting a boss battle, he appears to help Shing and the others to escape. Later on, after they exit the sewers, he discovers that Shing caused Kohak's Spirune to shatter into pieces. He grabs Kohak and threatens to kill Shing. After the fight, however, Kohak explains it was not really Shings fault. Kunzite agrees to continue traveling with them in order to recover all of her Spirune. He possesses the Soma "Vex"

He develops a strong rivalry (but later friendship) with Hisui Hearts, and shares a strong bond with Richea.
