Lake Umacy

Lake Umacy is an area in Tales of Symphonia close to Luin, hidden behind the forest. Not much is known about it.

Lloyd and the others first go to Lake Umacy by coincidence and find a unicorn deep under the lake. They try to find out how to get it up, but are unable to do so. If Sheena is not in the party at this time, Genis will tell Lloyd that it is impossible for them to reach and help the unicorn. When Sheena is a part of the group after destroying Asgard Human Ranch, Raine will mention that the Unicorn Horn is valuable item needed in order to heal Pietro in Hima. As they say that they cannot reach the unicorn, Sheena suggests that they make a pact with Undine. Although Raine says that there are no summoners in Sylvarant, Sheena says that if she makes a pact with a Summon Spirit, she can summon. They then decide to go to the Thoda Geyser again to meet Undine.
[edit] Death and Rebirth
After they obtain Undine, they go back and free the unicorn. When it is freed, they decide to go talk to it. However, only a pure maiden can approach the unicorn; as such, only Colette and Sheena go, having Raine say that she cannot because she is a woman. When they are before the unicorn, it mistakes Colette for Martel and says Colette is the one who could truly be the savior of the world. Then the unicorn gives up its horn to the girls, Colette might say that she will wait using the horn on herself, if she still has her voice. As they accept the horn, the unicorn fades away, explaining that the horns are their lives, and as such, they die without it. However, it tells them not to be afraid, as a new unicorn will be born.
When the girls come back to the group again, Sheena gets angry at Kratos (and Raine) for knowing that the unicorn would die, and still not say anything. However, Raine tells them how the unicorn always gets reborn when one dies, and as such, they are called the symbol of death and rebirth. They girls give the unicorn horn to Raine, who, upon having the Boltzman’s Book as well, learns Resurrection. After this scene, there is no more use to come back to Lake Umacy.
