Badaq, known through most of the game as Largo the Black Lion is one of the Six God-Generals and the leader of the Oracle Knights' shock troops, though is later revealed to be the true father of Princess Natalia, as, before he joined the Oracle Knights, he was husband of her nurse's late daughter. Because of the Score, his wife, Sylvia, was forced to give birth and when her daughter was taken to replace the stillborn Princess Natalia, she committed suicide by walking into the sea. Losing both wife and child, Badaq wandered until he met Van, and, agreeing with Van's ideal of a world free of the Score, he cast aside his old life as mercenary and abandoned his daughter.
Largo first appears during the assault of the Oracle Knights upon the Tartarus, at which point he is nearly killed by Jade Curtiss, miraculously surviving a grave spear wound after inflicting the colonel with a fon slot seal, and is shown to posses substantial fighting prowess in deflecting a bolt of lightning cast by the colonel that reduces his companions to ashes. He is fought a second time alongside Arietta the Wild and Legretta the Quick when encountered on the slope of Mt. Roneal, and is able to survive the encounter with the aid of Arietta's monsters, after which he serves as the emissary of the New Order of Lorelei to the Kingdom of Kimlasca-Lanvaldear and as the mediator between Anise and Arietta prior to their duel.
Largo is killed by an arrow fired by Natalia in the Absorption Gate, making him the second of the God-Generals to die, following Arietta and preceding Legretta.
[edit] Trivia
- Largo is associated with the element of fire, placing him in contrast to his daughter Natalia, who appears to be associated with water.
- Largo is one of two God-Generals shown to have living relations, the other being Asch.
- A retrospective hint that Natalia is Largo's daughter comes with the remark that she has the stamina of a farmhand, indicating that he has passed his great physical strength on to his daughter.
