The Linkite Tree is a withered tree from ancient times that produced a special fruit known as the Linkite Fruit in Tales of Symphonia. The tree is located near Sylvarant Base and the Triet Ruins.
The tree is first mentioned at Noah’s caravan after leaving Palmacosta. The travelers tell about a mystical tree that gives off a fruit that makes a special sound when wind blows into it. Unfortunately, the location of the tree has long been lost.
As the heroes continue to meet up with the caravan, however, the travelers will eventually give them a Linkite Nut. Later, after forming pacts with almost all of the Summon Spirit's, the party locates the Linkite Tree. After nourishing it by using Gnome's powers, together with the original nut given by the caravan, the revived tree bears more Linkite Nuts. Lloyd uses one of these to make a flute that can summon Aska with the help of Sylph, like the one Mithos gave Genis. They manage to summon Aska, though will not form a pact with Sheena unless Luna is around. Because of this, the group asks Aska to go to the Tower of Mana where Luna is. He does so, and flies off.
