Meredy is a young girl from the world of Celestia. She first appears during the opening cutscene, during which she prepares to board a space vessel to travel from her world to the opposing world of Inferia. She manages a crash landing and encounters Reid Hershel and Farah Oersted within the forest outside of their home village of Rasheans. Upon meeting her, the two locals quickly discover that they cannot understand her language and unpredictable behavior, and that her appearance and clothing is strange, but they are able to reason that she must be an outsider from Celestia.
Later in the story, Reid and Farah, along with Keele Zeibel, eventually obtain a device that allows them to communicate with Meredy. They learn from her that reason she came to Inferia is to attempt to stop their two worlds from colliding into each other, a phenomenon known as the Grand Fall. To this end, Meredy intends to acquire the aid of all of the Greater Craymels of both worlds. Meredy is the daughter of Balir and Shizel, the individuals who are perceived to be the primary antagonists of the story. Like Shizel, Meredy bears the power of Nereid's Dark Aurora.
Appearance and Personality
Meredy's playful attitude is reminiscent of a cheerful, small child. She jumps on things and dances spontaneously, and she often speaks with incorrect grammar. She owns a small pet known as Quickie, whose name was bestowed by Reid based on the sounds he makes. She adores her pet companion, and she can control him to attack during battles.
Meredy is a mage and starts with Grave, Ice Needles, and Lightning Craymel Artes, which element-wise are Earth, Ice, and Volt respectively, three of the four elements native to her homeworld of Celestia. She depends on Quickie to directly attack enemies. Outside of her original appearance, Meredy uses Earth, Ice, Volt, and Shadow Craymel Artes. In Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology 3, Shadow serves as her mystic arte due to her lack of one in Tales of Eternia.
- In Tales of Xillia 2, Meredy is mentioned in the job, "You Gotta Help Me!", where she rewards the player with the "Sealed Eternia" weapon, in exchange for an "Aqua Ribbon".
