Paneer is Kanonno Earhart's nanny and ship's cook aboard the Van Eltia. She loves to do household work in general and gets angry when somebody tries to do her work. She also enjoys reading romance novels. During the events of the story, she allows the player to deposit his or her equipment so that his or her inventory will not get full.
Before coming to work on the Van Eltia, Paneer was employed as Kanonno's nanny. After Kanonno's village was destroyed, Paneer continued to raise her to the best of her ability and brought her to live on the Van Eltia. Because Kanonno was too young at the time, Paneer raised her to believe that her parents were not actually deceased, but missing, and that it was their voices calling to her from the ocean. Though motivated by love, this deception weighs heavily on her. Once the Niata are revealed to be the real source of the voices, Paneer confesses this to Kanonno and is forgiven.
Though only 18 in human years, Paneer is old for a Natsu-Nattsu. Natsu-Nattsu who have failed to find a soul mate generally die around Paneer's age, but can live much longer lives if sustained by love. In the epilogue, Paneer meets Kanonno on the deck of the Van Eltia and tells her that she has married Janis Kern, and will, as a result, continue to live for some time.
- In Tales of Berseria, a stained glass image of Paneer can be obtained as a treasure stored on the Van Eltia.
