Pow Hammer
From Aselia, the Tales wiki
Pow Hammer (ピコハン Pikohan?, "Piko Hammer"[1]) is a classic arte of the Tales series. This is one of the most widely recognized artes in the series, as it is usually one of the first that a supporting character learns or starts with. The name, both in Japanese and English, comes from the sound of a toy hammer when it hits something.

[edit] Arte Description and History
This arte was introduced as a spell in Tales of Phantasia, requiring a short casting period before summoning a toy hammer to drop onto the target. If this hammer hits an enemy, it will be stunned for a short period without failure. However, the hammer can miss its target somewhat easily, especially if the target starts to move to a different position by the time the hammer appears. This original form is only a status-afflicting spell, and it does no damage to the enemy.
In later games, Pow Hammer became a physical attack that can be used in melee situations, often seen as a single hammer that is thrown at the enemy, spinning in the air as it arcs across the field to hit its target. In Tales of Eternia, Chat has an alternative version that allows her to throw several toy hammers at once, each with its own chance to stun any enemy that is hit.
In Tales of the Abyss, this effect is matched by Anise Tatlin's own version, which is available only if the "Great Pirate" accessory is equipped, as an homage to Chat's abilities. Tear Grants' version of the arte only summons one toy hammer. However, it can be used anywhere on the battle field to hit a target at any distance. Additionally, this arte can be used within a complete Water or Dark FOF circle to convert it into Frozen Hammer.
In Tales of Symphonia, after the arte has been used over 200+ times, Toss Hammer will appear randomly to replace it and any of its more powerful variants when they are used, inflicting the "poison" status ailment upon the enemy. The base Pow Hammer can also become Ice Hammer if Colette Brunel is inflicting Ice elemental damage. In her cameo appearances in Escort Titles, these altered artes become a default part of her arte list when appearing. In the game, there are several compound special attacks that can be formed with this arte during a Unison Arte. If used with Tiger Blade, the arte will become Pow Blade; if used with Lightning, the result is Mjollnir; if used with Light Spear, it will be Pow Spear; if used together with Devastation, the compound special attack will be Pow Devastation. All these artes have Colette replace the partner's original weapon with a Pow Hammer.
