The Shadow Somas are a powerful set of eight Soma evolutions that can be found in Tales of Hearts R. Each Soma possesses a hidden, untapped power that allows them to draw strength from defeated enemies, similar to the recurring Devil's Arms. To acquire them, the player must defeat the Shadow versions of each character within the Triverse Gate, the game's EX Dungeon.

- Charites - Ines Lorenzen's Shadow Soma. Obtained from Shadow Ines in the Triverse Gate by accessing the Anders Mine.
- Arcus Pluvius - Beryl Benito's Shadow Soma. Obtained from Shadow Beryl in the Triverse Gate by accessing the Schehera Desert.
- Cerberus - Kunzite's Shadow Soma. Obtained from Shadow Kunzite in the Triverse Gate by accessing the Schehera Desert.
- Zukunft - Chalcedony Akerman's Shadow Soma. Obtained from Shadow Chalcedony in the Triverse Gate's main area.
- Bestia - Gall Gruner's Shadow Soma. Obtained from Shadow Gall in the Triverse Gate's main area.
