Skits are short scenes that occur either at random or by certain triggers. First, appearing in Tales of Destiny, skits have been a staple of the series. For North American localizations, voice overs were cut from skits.
[edit] Tales of Destiny Skits
Skits in this game are triggered by standing still on the world map.
[edit] Tales of Phantasia (Playstation) Skits
Simmilarly to Tales of Destiny, skits in this game are activated by pressing the Select button on the world map. When a skit is triggered, the music volume is reduced considerably and portraits of the party appear on screen. As they chat, the portraits change to reflect their emotion.
[edit] Tales of Eternia Skits
Not really "skits" but pressing Select while on the World Map will trigger a person's face telling you where to go next.
[edit] Tales of Rebirth Skits
[edit] Tales of Symphonia Skits
Commonly known as Z-Skits, since on the original Gamecube version, they are activated by pressing the Z button. Certain conversations can grant character titles, or change the affection between Lloyd and his friends.
[edit] Tales of Legendia Skits
Those skits have voice-acting in both the American and the japanese release. Also, instead of showing portraits, the characters are fully shown, usually at the right end and left end of the screen.
[edit] Tales of the Abyss Skits
In Tales of the Abyss, skits are activated by pressing the Select button. They are presented in a simmilar style to the skits in Tales of Phantasia and Tales of Symphonia.
[edit] Tales of the Tempest Skits
Skits in Tales of the Tempest are quite a bit different when compared to the ones in previous games. For instance, to trigger one, the player must use a "Tent" item rather than simply pressing a button. No faces appear on the screen when characters are talking, and the party is instead shown sitting around a campfire with no changes in facial expression to back up their mood. Due to the limited amount of space available on a DS card, the skits are not voiced.
[edit] Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World Skits
Skits are actavated by pressing C at certain parts of the game. You can activate a skit when you see a skit title at the lower left on the screen. The charaters talk and the portraits change depending on their moods. In the North American version, the skits were voiced as well, something that did not happen to the original game.
[edit] Tales of Innocence Skits
Skits are activated by pressing the select button when a tittle is on the bottom left screen, the skits are not voiced, but can affect the relationships between characters.
[edit] Tales of Hearts Skits
Skits are activated by pressing select when a title is on the bottom left screen, many skits are voiced in this game, and some can give you titles and affect your relationships.
[edit] Tales of Vesperia Skits
Skits are activated by pressing the back button when a title is on the bottom left screen, there are over 500+ skits all voiced. It gives you a sense of what happens in the group ond things they hate/like or disagree on.
