Soaring Blast (翔舞煌爆破 Shoubu Koubappa?, "Wing Gleam Blast"[1]) is a strike arte used exclusively by Anise Tatlin from Tales of the Abyss and Leia Rolando from Tales of Xillia.

Arte Description and History

In Tales of the Abyss, the arte enables Anise to command her puppet Tokunaga to jump into the air with an uppercut, lifting her target into the air. This is immediately followed by launching a small blast of energy downward at the ground below the enemy, keeping it afloat as Anise and Tokunaga land. When activated within a complete Water or Dark FOF Circle, this arte is altered into Brutal Torrent.

In Tales of Xillia and its sequel, Leia uses this arte with a staff. When activated on the ground, she will jump upward and perform a two-handed overhead swing with her staff that causes a pulse of energy to fall vertically from the staff's end while keeping Leia afloat. The energy pulse will continue downward until it reaches the ground, throwing any enemies it hits into the air and knocking them down. The higher Leia is when activating this arte, the larger the energy pulse becomes as it travels toward the ground. Both the staff swing and energy pulse can hit the enemy. When activated in midair, there is no jumping motion, reducing the time spent drastically.
