[edit] Making the Key Crest
This is the place the group finds out more about the Cruxis Crystal, as well as makes a Key Crest to Colette to try to get her back from her lifeless state after the final seal at the Tower of Salvation. After getting the information, Lloyd and the others go to the market in order to find something to use to make a Key Crest. They find a slightly destroyed one, and Lloyd gets a room for himself to repair it. After fixing it, he goes and gives it to Colette as a very late birthday present. However, she does not show any reactions from getting a Key Crest.
The group suggests that they can go back to Sylvarant to talk to Dirk, as he can more about Key Crests than Lloyd. Zelos is against this, but is subdued. But then suddenly Papal Knights sent by the Pope comes, and arrests them for betrayal. It is then revealed that Raine and Genis are in fact half-elves, not elves as they claimed to be. Since half-elves are on the lowest in the caste system, the siblings are sent to be executed, and meanwhile, the others are locked in a lab with another half-elf named Kate, who helps them to escape after realizing that they want to help their friends.
[edit] Warning
They go back to Sybak in order to get information about Colette's sickness and the Kharlan War, when they meet Kratos. Lloyd tries to challenge him into a battle, though Kratos ignores him and tells Colette to take off the Key Crest Lloyd gave her. Colette refuses, as it is a present from Lloyd. Kratos says that she is being foolish before he exits the city. Later, Kate tells them that Kratos came and repaired a machine that could make ademantite, a special-shaped diamond that dwarves know most of. They do not understand why he needs that sort of diamond.
When at the library, they manage to find stories about the Kharlan War and how one of the Hero Mithos’ companions got the same sickness that Colette got but got cured, and it is here Lloyd admits that he does not think of Kratos as an enemy as much as he shows. They agree to go looking for the ingredients for the cure in the castle in Meltokio, though Zelos shows displeasure for something.
[edit] Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World
In the sequel of the game, the party goes to Sybak, where they find out about Richter's origins and some of his life as a half-elf. It's also more information about Aster, a human boy who looks almost exactly like Emil.
