Tales of Eternia: The Animation is a 13 episode anime series which places Reid Hershel and his childhood friends Farah Oersted and Keele Zeibel, along with Meredy, a girl who fell from Celestia in a journey to stop the Grand Fall. Eternia, divided into 2 different worlds; Infernia and Celestia, is in the brink of colliding with each other, this is what is known as the "Grand Fall". The king of Inferia has assigned them to stop the Grand Fall from occuring, with this as their goal, they search for a way to reach Celestia with the help of the Summoning Spirits.

Tales of Eternia : The Animation is somewhat of a side story of the original game, covering a part of the journey to Celestia that did not take place in the game. The anime introduces a few new faces as well as some familiar faces. The anime's plot is neither spoiler nor a retelling of the story in-game.
