Information
Game Tales of Berseria
World Desolation
Country Holy Midgand Empire
Region Eastgand
The principal city of the Eastgand region. Its location on seaside cliffs gives it a unique vertical layout.

Taliesin, Cliff City of the East (東の断崖都 タリエシン?) is the largest city found in Eastgand in Tales of Berseria, and serves as a major port for trade and transportation from Eastgand to the other regions of the Holy Midgand Empire. This city was the first to be rescued by Artorius Collbrande during his quest to purge the daemon threat. Velvet Crowe and her group visited this port side town on route to her hometown of Aball, where a major earthpulse point is found.

Geography

Taliesin is a large town with a port that is built along the side of a cliff. Many windmills and complex pulley systems can be found throughout the town, suggesting that the inhabitants rely on wind power to make daily life easier. Unlike other towns across the world, Taliesin has not faced massive daemon threats, and thus, is rarely visited by the Abbey.

Beyond Taliesin lies the Morgana Woods, which is the only path to reach Aball, and consequentially the earthpulse point beyond. It is revealed by Velvet that in order to leave Eastgand, the traveler must take a ship from this city, suggesting that this is the only port in all of Eastgand. Since Aball has been abandoned and devoid of inhabitants for three years, Taliesin is the only settlement left in this region, making it easier for the Abbey to control the daemon threat, explaining the decline of exorcist activity in this region.

History

During their quest to find the seven therions, Velvet and crew traveled to Taliesin to reach the earthpulse point found in Aball. However, Melchior Mayvin laid a trap in the seas just outside the town, entrapping Velvet in a dream-like arte where the townsfolk claimed that Aball has survived the years since the Advent. After freeing the sixth therion from Aball, the town returns to normal.

Trivia

  • Taliesin appears to be based off the real life island of Mykonos in Greece, as many of the town's architectural structures are white in appearance, and share many similar design traits to that of Mykonos's villages. The windmills in Taliesin also bare a striking resemblance to Mykonos's windmills.
