Thoda Geyser

Thoda Geyser is the location of the Seal of Water in Tales of Symphonia. It is a popular tourist destination, as well.

[edit] Statue of Spiritua
The first time the party arrives, they are looking for the Spiritua Statue. As they get from the docks, Colette notices something familiar from the distance, but does not tell the group. When at the geysers, Genis will use Icicle so that Lloyd can climb on them to reach the statue on the other side of the geyser. If Lloyd succeeds, he will get the statue on his own. However, if he fails, the party member with best attraction to Lloyd will come and save him, and Kratos will get it instead.

After getting the statue, it is possible to open the door that goes inside the geyser, which leads to the Seal of Water. When they are inside the geyser, the assassin will appear again, but is stopped by Noishe. However, she summons a strange creature to hold the animal off, but the path the group took disappears, enabling her to go after them.
When back at the group, Kratos tells Lloyd that he knew the assassin was behind them the whole time, and scolds Lloyd for not noticing. This makes Lloyd mad, and taunts Kratos for always being so perfect. Kratos them reveals that he once did a terrible mistake, but decides not to talk about it now.
After going through the Sorcerer's Ring’s new challenge of water, the Chosen’s group has to fight the guardian of the seal. After doing so, Remiel will appear again and give Colette new angelic powers. When he has told them where to go next, he disappears, and the group decides to get out.
However, when outside, Colette collapses, and depending which route the player has chosen, Raine will or will not call this phenomenon for Angel Toxicosis. Also depending on which route chosen, Lloyd may or may not make Colette and himself fall, making Lloyd suspicious of his friend’s condition.
[edit] Hot or cold?
If the hard route was chosen, Lloyd will ask Colette to look at her hand, and tells her that she is bleeding from the earlier fall. Colette takes the hand back and denies that it hurts. This makes Lloyd more suspicious, and asks if he can talk to her alone.
Colette waits while Lloyd returns with two cups of coffee. He gives Colette one, and, after Colette says it is hot, reveals that it actually is iced coffee. Although shocked, Colette agrees with him, but loses the coffee when Lloyd says that he lied, that it is hot coffee. Colette finally tells him about how she has stopped needing to eat and sleep, and that she can not taste or feel anymore. Lloyd gets angry and asks her why she has not told anyone before, and Colette answer by saying how she does not want anyone to worry, and that it is her fate to become an angel. Although Lloyd gets angry by this, Colette tells him not to tell it to anyone, for she wants the journey to be fun. Because of this, Lloyd hugs her and apologizes for not noticing before. Colette apologizes to him, as well, and says that she is happy, and wishes she can cry, although she cannot do that anymore.
[edit] Pact with Undine
Much later in the game, the party, including Sheena, goes to the Thoda Geyser in order to make a pact with Undine, the Summon Spirit of Water, so that they can help a unicorn in Lake Umacy. Through the dungeon, triggered skits hints that Sheena is afraid of making pact, and relies on Corrine for support.
Thoda Geyser, along with the other Seals, is destroyed by the Giant Kharlan Tree when it goes on a rampage.
[edit] Tales of Symphonia: The Animation
In the anime of the game, Thoda Geyser is shown in the third episode. The first thing seen are the docks, and then the anime shows the defeated guardian of the seal. Remiel will give Colette the powers while Genis mentions to Lloyd that it is harder to fight without Lloyd using his Exsphere, as he unequipped it in Luin. Lloyd apologizes, but Genis says it is okay as long as he has his magic. However, Lloyd is still down, and the Sage siblings exchange worried looks before the angel trial is over.
