  • The results of the Opening and Advent events are similar to the Dusk of Ladras: on a full moon night, a great power is awakened at the cost of a life, and the main character receives a great power.
  • Magilou's catchphrase in the Japanese release, "maginpui" (マギンプイ?), which is known in the English release as "Magikazam", is similar to Mao's catchphrase "chichinpuipui" (ちちんぷいぷい?).
  • The flower "sale'tomah" that grows in Warg Forest is a reference to Saleh and Tohma.
  • Magilou mentions a dish called "Calegian borscht", referencing the world of Calegia.

  • Laphicet's bag is made of "Maurits silk", referencing Maurits Welnes.
  • A set of three statues depicting Quppo, Pippo, and Poppo can be obtained as a treasure stored on the Van Eltia.

  • Van Aifread's daemon form heavily resembles Asura, albeit Aifread's daemon form is violet, emptier, and lacks a tail, which he replaces with a tattered cape.

  • While searching for the therion in the sea west of Titania, it is suggested to fish it, and Eizen takes out "Fujibayashi's rod". Fujibayashi is the surname of Sheena Fujibayashi. Furthermore, Eleanor Hume states that since she learned fishing from Tenny, an old man back from her village, she caught at least a hundred Triet loaches. This refers to how Tenebrae, being nicknamed "Tenny", among many other names, by Colette Brunel, transforms into a fishing rod so Emil Castagnier can fish a monster from the oasis in Triet.
  • Ratatosk's core can be obtained as a treasure stored on the Van Eltia.

  • The weapon dealer in Stonebury is named "Hearts" after Kohaku Hearts and Hisui Hearts.
  • In an optional confession, Eizen admits to buying a fake painting he thought was done by an artist named "Beryl Benito", but was 100 Gald short on the money so he "borrowed" some money from his little sister. Beryl Benito is a young woman aspiring to become a court painter in Tales of Hearts.

  • As a part of the game's DLC, Laphicet and Eizen can acquire outfits based on Richard and Hubert Oswell's "main arc" appearances, respectively.
  • The weapon dealer in Meirchio is named "Tiger Festival" after a nickname given to Richard by Asbel Lhant.
  • The sewers in Loegres are named Barona Catacombs after the series of tunnels located underneath Barona.
  • The max enhance name for Rokurou Rangetsu's short swords "Ephemeral Wings" is "Gran Cheria", referencing Cheria Barnes, who uses daggers as weapons, similarly to Rokurou.
  • The statue of Barona's valkines cryas, the Gloandi, can be obtained as a treasure stored on the Van Eltia.

  • Jude Mathis and Milla Maxwell appear as a cameo battle.
  • The weapon dealer in Katz Korner is named "Vint Svent" after Alvin's birth name, Alfred Vint Svent.
  • Magilou's design draws heavily from Elize Lutus and her animatronic doll Teepo: Magilou has blond hair and is a magic adept like Elize, and her outfit is themed after Teepo. Teepo also appears as part of Magilou's swimsuit DLC.
  • Benwick and his pet sylphjay both have a blond bang with a green tip similarly to Milla.
  • Flowers known as Princessias grow near the town of Aball. They also grow in the Figal Icecups near Hellawes, a snow region, the same climate type where Princessias are found in the Mon Highlands of Auj Oule.
  • After defeating Dullahan on Titania, Laphicet and Grimoirh study a book about Innominat, and one of the possible readings is "Muzetmilla", which translates to "poranges are nummy".
  • A Lilium Orb can be obtained as a treasure stored on the Van Eltia.

  • As a part of the game's DLC, Rokurou Rangetsu can acquire an outfit based on Ludger Will Kresnik's default appearance.
  • The general store in illusion Aball is named "Gaius" after Gaius. It also later appears in Port Zekson.
  • A cat named Rollo used to live in Aball and scare Niko's dogs.
  • A cat named "Julius Catstantine III" escapes from a veterinarian in Taliesin. In Tales of Xillia 2, Julius Catstantine III is the name of a cat that Leia Rolando is tasked with catching in Marksburg. Both towns are located near the sea.
  • One of the ingredients for "Omega Elixir" is "Long Dau's Dust", which is the name of a waymarker in Tales of Xillia 2.
  • One of Magilou's Guardians is named "Lulu Doll", which references Rollo's Japanese name. The max enhance name for this weapon is "Chubby Kitty Spirit", also referencing Rollo and his plump figure.
  • A waymarker can be obtained as a treasure stored on the Van Eltia.
  • The "Harbinger of the End" references Origin and his trial: if the Harbinger of the End will judge the people negatively, he will destroy them, but if he judges them positively, then he will grant them a single wish. This is similar to what Origin has organized in Tales of Xillia 2, in that if humans are not able to reach him before the millionth fractured dimension appears, miasma will pour into the world and destroy it, but if they manage to reach him in time, he will grant them a single wish.

  • Warg Forest is named after a mythological wolf, and in particular, refers to the wolf Fenrir and his sons, Sköll and Hati.
  • Danann Highway is named after the mythological Danu, an Irish goddess who, in modern Irish, is written as "Dana". Likewise, Brigid Ravine is named after Brigid, an Irish goddess of pre-Christian Ireland.
  • One of Magilou's Guardians is called "Witching Hour". In folklore, a witching hour is the time of haunting at which creatures such as witches, demons, ghosts, and gremlins are thought to appear and be at their most powerful, assigned at midnight.
