[edit] Looking for Colette

Lloyd and Genis first go to Triet in search of Colette and the others. Here they find out Lloyd is a wanted criminal, and the player will also get an explanation of customization. They go to see a fortune teller to find Colette’s location. However, they have to pay 200 Gald first. After paying, the fortune teller says that the Chosen’s party is heading for the Triet Ruins, as one of her companions asked for the location. After receiving this information, Lloyd and Genis are heading out of the city, but are forced to fight a couple of Desians who recognize Lloyd from the wanted poster, something Genis picks on. After winning the battle, someone from behind attacks Lloyd with an electric shock. More Desians will appear (but will much later in the story be referred as Renegades), and they take Lloyd and Genis to their base.

[edit] Kratos and Noishe

After the events at the Sylvarant Base, Lloyd teaches everyone about Exspheres. Raine will then take forth a broken Key Crest that she asks Lloyd to fix so that she can use it on the Exsphere she found in the base. If Lloyd first goes to Colette’s room, they will talk about his banishment and how she will work hard for those people who died in Iselia.

When Lloyd goes to give the newly repaired Key Crest to Raine, he can also see Genis sleeping. Genis will then say in his sleep how much their friendship means for him. After Lloyd has given the Key Crest to Raine, he will see Kratos go out of the inn. If Lloyd chooses to follow him, he will see Kratos before Noishe. However, when Lloyd silently approaches them, Kratos unsheathes his sword and almost slices Lloyd. They then have a conversation where Kratos says that although he does not really like animals, he used to have a pet before. He will then mention Lloyd’s name, but when the latter gets nervous about the stare Kratos gives him, Kratos gives him a lesson about not refining his sword skills good enough. As Kratos goes inside the inn again, Lloyd gets angry, and is even angrier when he admits to himself that Kratos is much better than himself in swordsmanship. He then returns to the inn, as well.

The day afterward, Lloyd realizes that he is late, and runs outside. When he gets to the group, they are irritated, but pleased that they finally can continue the Journey of Regeneration. Raine will give Lloyd the Monster Book, telling him to think of it as homework, making him groan. They then leave.

[edit] The introducer

After the night at the Triet Ruins when Colette has unleashed the Seal of Fire, if the group happens to sleep in the inn, Lloyd will scream in the middle of the night, causing everybody to come into his room. Saying some stranger had been next to his bed, the others warn him to be on his guard. The introducer is never revealed.

[edit] A little chat

Before the final battle, if the party goes to Triet and sleeps over, Lloyd will go out and see Kratos talk to Noishe again. Lloyd tries to approach them again, but this time Kratos does not attack, merely telling him that he knows he is there. They then talk a little, and Kratos tells Lloyd that Noishe actually may be older than himself, and that he found him hurt during the Kharlan War and took care of him. Since then they have always been together. Lloyd is fascinated with this, and tells Noishe that when he dies, the dog should go and live with Genis and Raine, as the latters will live longer than himself. Kratos also hints about his decision at the end of the game already here.

[edit] Tales of Symphonia: The Animation

Triet is actually never seen in the anime, but before being reunited with Lloyd and Genis, Coeltte, Raine and Kratos are in a destroyed and left desert village. Whenever this village is Triet, and it was destroyed by the Desians or because of the deceasing of the world, is left unknown.

[edit] Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World

  • An oasis town in the center of the desert. Known as the flower of the desert.

In the sequel of the game, Triet is a cold town with snow, and the oasis is frozen. This is because of the Centurion Ignis’s core.

[edit] Footfalls of Tomorrow

Emil Castagnier, Marta Lualdi and Tenebrae, together with Raine and Genis, go there in order to fish up a monster they need to get further in the Triet Ruins. When they see the frozen oasis, Genis suggests using his fire artes, but Raine tells him not to, as he might kill the monsters. Tenebrae then transforms into a rod to make Emil able to fish up the monster. When they get up the monster they are supposed to, they have to fight it.

After the battle, the monster is still alive, and therefore Raine suggests that Emil makes a pact with it instead of completely killing it. Emil does so, and they go back to the ruins.

After hatching the Centurion's core of Fire, the Triet will soon return to normal.

[edit] Light and Darkness

Later, when Regal is in the party, it is possible to open a side-quest where a servant of Aqua informs Emil and Tenebrae that she and Richter are at the inn and want to talk to them. As Marta goes to the fortune teller to ask about their relationship, Emil and Tenebrae meet up with Richter and Aqua. It is revealed that the two want Emil’s help to get an angelatops shell he will switch with for Spiritua Apocrypha, an apocrypha a priestess in Iselia has.

[edit] Trivia

  • To the left for the armor shot in Triet, a hole in the wall is shaped like Colette’s silhouette. When Lloyd and Genis see this, the man there says that the Chosen had fallen on his wall, and that he is going to become rich by tourism. Because of his belief in the Chosen, this may be the reason the hole still is there in the sequel of the game, even though two years have passed.
  • Although the intruder at the inns is never revealed, fans have concluded it to be either Yuan or Sheena. Yuan because he either wanted to kill Colette but got in wrong room or wanted to kidnap Lloyd, Sheena because she was supposed to kill Colette but probably got into wrong room.
  • When the world maps of Tales of Symphonia and Tales of Phantasia are compared, Triet appears to be at about the same location as Olive, though the climate suggests that it may in fact have become Arlee.
